Recipes for an Encounter is a compendium of recipes, instructions, diagrams, scores, and texts that function as catalysts for various types of encounters. The book takes its impetus from Kits for an Encounter, an exhibition co-curated by Candice Hopkins and Marissa Jahn at Western Front in 2008. In Recipes for an Encounter, readers are invited to complete the works collected inside by testing out the recipes to yield infinitely varied outcomes.
