Product Description

Western Front celebrates its 40th anniversary with the release of "Vaincu.Va! Live at the Western Front 1978" by iconic UK saxophonist and improviser Evan Parker.

Restored and mastered from the original archived quarter-inch tape that captured Parker's dynamic, innovative performance at the Western Front 34 years ago, Parker’s "Vaincu.Va!" remains well ahead of its time.

The limited edition LP features new cover art created by Western Front co-founder Eric Metcalfe, and an essay by Alexander Varty.

"Evan Parker's iconic career as a saxophone soloist has, over the years, broken ground on the very nature of expression on the instrument. This recording is a moment in time caught in Vancouver, comprised of two 17-plus-minute tour de forces, released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of Canada's premiere venues for creative music: the Western Front." -Exclaim Magazine
